The Nerdy Girl and the Intergalactic Dog
Being an eleven year old girl is not easy...especially when you're Louise Noble-Bells. Louise is used to a life of world travel with her antique-dealing parents and being schooled at home. Now her parents have decided to settle in Chicago, open a coffee shop, and send Louise to a new school. As if that weren't enough, Louise has been befriended by a dog who has fallen from space. And his presence has given her cat the power of speech...and does she have a lot to say! Rascal Children's Theater is thrilled to present this world-premiere production of Barbara Lhota's first play for young audiences. Barbara is a Chicago playwright whose plays have been staged at Circle Theatre, Artistic Home, Bailiwick Repertory, Women's Theatre Alliance, and Camenae Ensemble as well as at theaters in New York, Boston, and Detroit (to name a few). Barbara's plays Strangers and Romance are published in Women Playwrights: The Best Plays of 2001. She is the co-author, with Janet Milstein and Ira Brodsky, of the Forensics Duo Series, a series of short plays for speech competitions published by Smith and Kraus Publishers. WHAT: The Nerdy Girl and the Intergalactic Dog By Barbara Lhota WHEN: May 19 – June 30. Saturdays at 2pm. TICKETS: $6 for kids, $11 for adults. Call 773-561-5893 for reservations.
